Become a Resident Artist
With a mission to grow our ceramic community, Ceramigos offers residencies to clay artists who desire to share their passion with our students.
Each Resident Artist will have a dedicated working area with personal table and storage, and 24/7 access to the studio. They also will be given the opportunity to teach some of the classes offered at Ceramigos and be compensated for their involvement.
The minimum residency commitment is 6 months.
FAQ
How do I apply?
Clay artists may apply to the residency program by submitting a resumé and portfolio of their work, an artist statement, references, and a cover letter showcasing their interest in participating in our residency program. Please fill out the form below for more information.
How long is the residency?
Resident Artists must initially commit to a minimum of 6 months, and +/- 24 hours per week. After that, the residency can be renewed 2 months at a time. We request a 60 day notice before intended end of residency.
What do I get?
Residents each get a personal workbench with a full 48x18x84 shelving unit with 5 shelves, and free firing for non-production work. Residents will also have 24/7 access to the studio.
The studio offers 2 resident-dedicated wheels. All other tools and equipment will be shared with the students.
The residency program also involves group critiques with other local clay artists, gallery opening showcases, and discounted access to any workshop or event offered by other Ceramigos residents or instructors in our space.
Finally, Residents can use our Gallery Space to exhibit their work and sell through Ceramigos.
What if I need to take a break?
No problem! If you have a show you need to focus on and still need your space but have absolutely no time to dedicate to Ceramigos, we require you to give us a 60 day notice and will ask you to pay a rental fee. Any production firing will need to be scheduled and paid for during that break. Resident’s breaks are limited to 2x 1 month per year.
